Guademy 2007 was a successful even which laid the basis of the collaboration between developers of the KDE and the GNOME desktop. This second meeting tries to consolidate this cooperation and establish joint development projects for both desktops. Guademy 2008 will have a pragmatic approach, with workgroups and forums which will let developers debate and take decisions on the convergence of the main subsystems of both desktops.
Guademy 2008 pursues the following points:
- Widen the scope of the event, making it more international. Several contributors of KDE and Gnome have been invited.
- Keynotes, papers, workshops and forums will focus on areas common to both desktops
- Take decisions which improve the joint development of both desktops
- Create collaboration projects, whose results will be studied in Guademy 2009
Free registration GUADEMY 2008. Places limited to 110 people. End Date: April 22th.
Registration is required to participate in the event.
Deadline for proposals call for hacking: April 6th, 2008.
Deadline for submitting abstracts: April 11th, 2008.
GUADEMY 2008 will take place at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Valencia (Spain).
GUADEMY will span from April 25th to April 27th, 2008
Developers of both GNOME and KDE from all around Spain will take part in this second Guademy. We will also have several foreign speakers.
